29-Year-Old Man Faces DUI Charges Following Incident in Burnside Township

Legal-scales-books-gavel-Image-1024x681[1]BURNSIDE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say a DUI arrest was made on Harmony Road, in Burnside Township, Clearfield County.

According to police, on October 28, 29-year-old Scott Matthew Charney, of Burnside, was located passed out inside his vehicle along the side of the road.

Charney was allegedly determined to be DUI and in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police say.

According to court records, Charney faces the following charges:

  • Marijuana-Small Amt Personal Use, Misdemeanor
  • Use/Poss Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor
  • DUI: Gen Imp/Inc of Driving Safely – 1st Offense, Misdemeanor
  • DUI: High Rte of Alcohol (Bac.10 – .16) 1st Offense, Misdemeanor
  • DUI: Controlled Substance – Metabolite – 1st Offense, Misdemeanor
  • DUI: Controlled Substance – Combination Alcohol/Drugs – 1st Offense, Misdemeanor
  • Disregard Traffic Lane (Single), Summary
  • Careless Driving, Summary
  • Restrictions on Alcoholic Beverages, Summary
  • Fail to use safety belt – driver and front seat occupant, Summary

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on December 23 in front of Magisterial District Judge James L. Hawkins.
