3 Dead in Fiery Head-on Collision

police_line_11HUSTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) –DuBois-based State Police report three people have died following a two-vehicle crash along State Route 255 in Huston Township, Clearfield County.

Police report the crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. July 21 as a green 2015 Chevrolet Silverado operated by William Charles Tyler, 71, of Weedville was traveling north along State Route 255 about three-tenths of a mile north of Parrish Road.

The vehicle crossed over the center line and struck head-on a green 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer operated by Jeffrey Lynn Jacob, 50, of St. Mary’s.

The Trailblazer became engulfed in flames after the collision.

Both drivers and a passenger in the Jacob vehicle, Ruth B. Buganza, 84, of St. Mary’s, were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, Tyler was not wearing a seat belt and it is unknown if Jacob or Buganza were wearing their seat belts.

Sabula Fire Department, Penfield Fire Department, Treasure Lake Fire Department, Bennetts Valley EMS, Dusan EMS, and Coroner Morris assisted at the scene.
