37th Annual ‘Run/Walk for Someone Special’ Kicks Off Today

SYKESVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – The 37th Annual ‘Run or Walk for Someone Special’ event will be held this Sunday, April 3rd, at Sykesville Town Hall.

Anyone wishing to participate has the option to run or walk two-miles or run five-miles. Trophies and ribbons are awarded to finishers in a variety of age groups for both the two-mile race and five-mile race. There will also be games, food, prizes, and a silent auction at the hall. Prizes are given to the top money collectors.

Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. and the race begins at 3:00 p.m. Participants who pre-registered and donated $20.00 or more will receive a t-shirt. Participants who register the day of the event and donate $25.00 or more will receive a t-shirt. Children 12 years of age or younger may participate for free.

All proceeds raised at this event benefit The Arc of Jefferson and Clearfield Counties and children and adults with special needs from Camp Friendship. The event also provides support for other programs ran throughout the year.
