William F. "Bee" Sarvey

William F. “Bee” Sarvey, 86, Sarvey Lane, Brookville, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Brookville Hospital.

Born in Brookville March 20, 1926, he was a son of the late Guy C. and Mabel Catherine Shunk Sarvey.

William was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving as Seaman First Class in the Pacific and American Theater. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

He worked as a foreman for Humphrey Charcoal of Brookville for 63 years.

William was a member of the Brookville Fireman’s Club and Fraternal Order of Eagles #983 of Brookville. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by his close friend, Dorothy Moore of Brookville and children Raenette, Fred, Dave, Jim and Amy. He is also survived by a son, William G. “Bill” (Janet) Sarvey of Brookville; two brothers, Larry Sarvey and Guy L. (Dorothy) Sarvey, both of Brookville; two sisters, Ellen “Sis” Tokar of Brockway and Patricia “Pat” (Pete) Skinner of Brookville; a grandchild, William D. “Billy” (Jamie) Sarvey of Brookville; and three great-grandchildren: Payton, Cassidy and Jordan.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers: Bob, Drew and Richard Sarvey.

Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Emerickville Methodist Cemetery in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
