56-Year-Old Man Killed After Vehicle Slams into Tree Head-On

BLOOM TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say a fatal crash occurred Wednesday morning on State Route 219, on Chestnut Grove Highway, in Bloom Township, Clearfield County.

According to police, around 11:25 a.m. on May 27, 56-year-old Wayne Eugene Doane, of Grampian, was traveling south on SR 219, and for an unknown reason, his 2001 Chevrolet Silverado traveled across the roadway onto the eastern berm.

Police say the pickup continued to travel in a southern direction for approximately 20 feet where its front end struck a tree head-on, coming to a rest.

Doane was transported to Penn Highlands Regional Medical Center, according to police.

The report indicates Doane is deceased; however, no additional information was provided.

The Silverado was severely damaged and was towed from the scene.

Brady Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.
