Tri-County Animal Rescue Center in Shippenville, PA held an event on August 17, 2013 to increase awareness of the issues surrounding homeless pets in our communities.
Despite having several rescues in the area, the needs of many animals continue to be unmet. The animals far outnumber our funding and the people willing to do the hands-on work. One of the major keys to reducing this population is for pet owners to spay and neuter their animals. Kittens and puppies may be cure, but persons allowing their animals to procreate for that reason to to “experience the miracle of birth” contribute to this many animals who go homeless.
In recognition of people in Clarion and surrounding counties, Tri-County ARC gave out 5 awards last night to those who were nominated by person’s in our communities for the work they do. Those receiving awards were:

A special award was presented to Patty Laswick, President, board of Directors of Tri-County ARC. She was given a Life Time Achievement Award for he many years she has given outstanding effort and resources for the animals of our communities.
