74-Year-Old Woman Falls Asleep at Wheel, Crashes Vehicle into Fence

HENDERSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police a one-vehicle accident occurred around 11:35 p.m. on April 29, approximately 1/10 mile west of Cider Mill Road, along State Route 410, in Henderson Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 74-year-old Anna J. Wagner, of Punsutawney, was traveling west on SR 410. She fell asleep at the wheel, and her 1999 Ford F250 pickup traveled off the north edge of the roadway.

The pickup impacted 160 feet of wooden fence and then traveled back onto SR 410 for 90 feet. Then, the vehicle traveled back off the north edge of the roadway and impacted another 60 feet of wooden fence, according to police.

The pickup came to a final rest along the north edge of SR 410 facing west.

Wagner was using a seat belt and was not injured.
