83-Year-Old Man Escapes Injury After Slamming Vehicle into Utility Pole

KNOX TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, a one-vehicle crash occurred around 4:40 a.m. on April 17 in Knox Township, Jefferson County.

Police say the crash occurred as Edwin D. Sebring, 83, of Knoxdale, was traveling on Knoxdale Road south of Witch Hollow Road.

Sebring was traveling on wet roads with improper tread depth on the tires of his 2007 Mercury Milan, according to police.

Sebring lost control of his vehicle and slid off the road, then struck an embankment and a utility pole before coming to a final rest, police say.

Sebring was wearing a seat belt and was uninjured.

He was cited with a traffic violation.
