DuBois Man Allegedly Attacks, Robs Victim in Punxsutawney

crime-newsPUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney Borough Police say a burglary occurred on Wednesday on West Mahoning Street, Punxsutawney, Jefferson County.

According to police, around 6:10 p.m. on November 4, a known man reported withdrawing $80.00 from an ATM machine at a bank located on the 500 block of West Mahoning Street in Punxsutawney Borough when Terry Lee Goble, of DuBois, (who is known to the victim) allegedly approached him.

Police say it is alleged by the victim that Goble grabbed him by the neck, pushed him against the side of the bank, and took the $80.00 then fled on foot toward Pine Street.

Goble was located by police on Thursday, November 5, at a residence on the 300 block of Pine Street and taken into custody.

It was discovered that Goble had an active warrant issued out of Clearfield County and was subsequently transported to the Jefferson County Jail.

Goble was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak.

He was charged with the following offenses:

  • Robbery-Take Property From Other/Force, Felony 3
  • Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
  • Theft By Unlaw Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 2
  • Receiving Stolen Property, Misdemeanor 2

Unable to post $50,000.00 monetary bail, he remains in the Jefferson County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on November 19 with Magisterial District Judge Douglas Robert Chambers presiding.
