Aaron C. Farmery

Aaron C. Farmery, 92 years, 9 months and 7 days old passed away on November 25, 2016 at Jefferson Manor in Brookville, Pa.

He lived his entire life in the Smithhport and Rochester Mills area.

He was born February 18, 1924 in Smithport, Indiana County, Pa., the son of the late Aaron and Zoe (Williams) Farmery.

In November, 1947, he married the late Ruth Alma (Huff) Farmery.

He attended the Canoe Ridge Church of God.

He was a heavy equipment operator for strip jobs most of his life.

He served in the US Army Air Corps in the Asian Pacific Theater (CBI Theater) during World War II.

He was a member of the VFW.

He is survived by one daughter, Patricia (John) Powley of Halifax, Pa.; three sons, William (June) Farmery, Roger (Judy) Farmery, both of Rochester Mills, PA, and Dwight (Shirley) Farmery of Marion Center, Pa.; and one daughter-in-law, Linda Farmery, wife of the late G. Sherwin Farmery.

He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ethel Bair Richardson and her husband, Roger, who Aaron and Ruth raised; and sister-in-law, Verna Fry; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and son, G. Sherwin Farmery; three bothers, Robert, Langford and Vern; three sisters, Joyce Cunningham, Mona Kubecki and Mary Podrasky; and also sister-in-law, Violet (Bair) Myers, who Aaron and Ruth raised.

At Aaron’s request, there will be no public visitation.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 with Rev. Earl Flick officiating.

Full military honors will be accorded by the Jefferson County Veterans Honor Guard and the US Army.

Interment will follow at Lakelawn Memorial Park near Reynoldsville, Pa.

The family requests the donations in memory of Mr. Farmery be made to the Canoe Ridge Church of God or to the VFW, Maple Avenue, Punxsutawney, Pa. 15767.
