“During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Americans are making sacrifices every day. We recognize their sacrifices, but we believe it is important to recognize the sacrifices our veterans have made over the years,” said American Legion and V.F.W. post commander Bill Littlefield.

The service will be abbreviated due to the restrictions in place by Governor Tom Wolf during the epidemic, and the program will not include a guest speaker.

Details of the service:

– Brookville Honor Guard member Herbert McConnell will provide an invocation.

– Littlefield will read the resolution establishing Decoration Day, the forerunner of the modern Memorial Day.

– Jefferson County Veterans Affairs Director Krupa Steel will read the honor roll of deceased veterans in the county during 2019.

– The Brookville Honor Guard will provide a rifle salute in honor of the deceased.

Social distancing will be observed, and other restrictions will be in place. Seating will not be provided.

The service will be repeated at the Veteran’s Circle at the Brookville Cemetery.

The public is invited to attend.
