Adeline Infantino

1532568_profile_pic[1]Adeline Infantino, 88, Punxsutawney, went to her Lord on Thursday, February 26, 2015.

Adeline was born in Casablanca, Morocco, on February 9, 1927, a daughter of the late Josephine (Panzivalli) and Gaspar Basciano.

She followed Captain Barclay Infantino of the U.S. Army to marry on June of 1947. They made their home in Punxsutawney, PA. She called Punxsutawney home for 68 years and loved her town.

Adeline volunteered with Van Dyke and Company’s yearly performances and also volunteered with SPLASH.

She had her most distinctive characteristics of speaking five languages, French, Spanish, Italian, English, and Arabic. Her hobbies included knitting and crocheting beautiful blankets and scarves and baking delicious cookies and pies and she enjoyed playing cards with her friends. Her personality and generous spirit will be missed.

Surviving relatives include a daughter Linda (Infantino) Gibbs and son-in-law Dr. Stephen D. Gibbs of Carlisle, PA; four grandchildren, Dr. Trevor Gibbs and wife Jamie of Naperville, IL, Dr. Mark Gibbs and wife Isabel of Lancaster, PA, Lindsey Segu, Esq. and husband Dr. S. Segu, Esq. of Pittsburgh, PA, and Lauren Gibbs RN, of Philadelphia, PA; six great grandchildren; four siblings, Marie Aquilar Helen Fougues, Jerome Basciano, and Robert Basciano, all of France; she was fond of her nieces and nephews, especially Ron Infantino; and two close friends, Lena Van Dyke and Father Julio Alvarez.

She was preceded in death by her husband Barclay Infantino, parents Gaspar and Josephine Basciano son Robert Anthony, sister Josephine Basciano, and a brother Nicholas Basciano.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, March 2, 2015, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Saints Cosmas and Damian Roman Catholic Church, with Monsignor Joseph Riccardo officiating.

Interment will be in the mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Mrs. Infantino, to SPLASH or the Punxsutawney Library.
