Albert “Mike” Heckman was born on August 8, 1949 in Punxsutawney, PA to the late Albert and Constance Heckman. He said “good-bye” to this world on March 5, 2016, but to his gathered loved ones and friends, he said “see you soon”.
Heckman, Albert (2) Mike was a kind, loving and generous man, giving freely of his time, resources and concern. We will miss his contagious laugh and corny sense of humor. We applaud his courageous fight against cancer; with the Lord’s help, he lived far longer than the doctor’s prognosis.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Delanne (Baney) Heckman; also, his two sons- Michael Heckman and wife Glenna, and Brian Heckman and wife Jesse, all of Punxsutawney. Mike loved each one of his grandchildren- Ashley Miller of Rochester, NY, Broc Pearsall, Cailyn Heckman and Kaitlin Clark all of Punxsutawney. He was preceded in death by his siblings- Bruce Heckman, Brenda Meneeley, Barbara Heckman, Richard, John, and Timothy Heckman.
We could never wish him back to this life of tremendous pain. Instead, we echo back to him, “Mike, we will see you soon.”
Visiting hours will be at the Waterford Church of the Nazarene on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Venango Cemetery.
