Albert T. Masonis

Albert T. Masonis, 95, of Hibbard Road, DuBois, PA, died on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at his home.

Born on March 1, 1923, in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Vincent and Caroline (Ptashauskas) Masonis.

He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II.

Albert retired from Triangle Auto Springs after 40 years of service.

He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and watching sports, especially the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He loved his dog, Lizzie.

Albert is survived by his son, Joseph E. Masonis of Penfield, PA; a daughter, Dorothy J. Storbakken and her husband Gene of Williston, ND; his brother, Edward Masonis of Elyria, OH; six grandchildren, John, Jr., Michele, Joseph, Jr., Kimberly, Jamey & Lani; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his long-time friend, Karen Nebgen of DuBois, PA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances (Pierce) Masonis; a son, Bernard Masonis, and a daughter, Frances Gula.

There will be no public visitation.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 21, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.

Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the church.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

The Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
