Alfred Kelso, 70, of Brookville passed from this life to the next on Saturday, January 8, 2022.
He was born on November 30, 1951 to the late Joseph Kelso and Lois Black Kelso, she survives.
On November 8, 1975 he married Antoinette “Toni” Gleixner. Together they celebrated 37 years of wedded bliss. She proceeded him in death on September 17, 2014.
Their love was like no other. I’m sure she was right there to welcome him in to eternal happiness.
Al was employed at Clarion University for 34 years before retiring on June 27, 2007.
After retiring he pursued an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice through Clarion University Venango Campus.
He graduated in December 2013.
He was also one of the first EMT’s in Brookville, as well as a past member Brookville Volunteer Fire Company and an Army Veteran.
Al was Catholic in faith and attended Immaculate Conception Church in Brookville.
Al always lived by the motto “Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional.”
He could always put a smile on your face, even on the darkest of days.
From daily jokes to gag gifts and even “Guess what I’m eating in 25 chews or less” with his special niece Sierra, Al was always good for a laugh.
He was one of the most thoughtful people, willing to help anyone who needed it without hesitation.
His greatest treasure in life was his family.
He was an amazing husband, father, and fur dad.
He loved his cats with all his heart, especially his Himalayan Tika.
He recently added 3 puppies to his house who brought him such love and joy in his final days. Willow, Gracie, and Belle will miss him terribly.
In addition to his mother, Al is survived by his children, Corey (Lisa) Kelso and Melissa Kelso, sister Lisa (John) Pozza, grandson Airen Kelso, sister-in-law Judy (Larry) Gromley, niece Sierra (David) Barber, and a great niece Maicy Grace Barber.
He is also survived by numerous cousins, friends, and friends who became family.
In accordance to Al’s wishes, there will be no viewing.
However, friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Peterson Funeral Home, 155 Jefferson Street, Brookville.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
His ashes will interred at at later date at St Marys Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers family asks for donations to Stray Cat Central or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, both of which were near and dear to Al’s heart.
