Alice Ann Prosky

Alice Ann Prosky, 85, of Brookville, died Monday June 22, 2015 at Brookside Assisted Living in Brookville, PA.

Born January 28, 1930in Leetsdale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Isabella Beyers Nesbitt.

Alice was a graduate of Shaler High School. She was married to Franklin Jay Prosky on December 27, 1947 in Pittsburgh, he preceded her in death on May 6, 1992.

She attended church at the First United Methodist Church Brookville. Alice worked as a homemaker. Her hobbies included crafting, building elaborate doll houses, and needle point.

Surviving relatives include her son; Jay (Deidre) Prosky of Guys Mills, PA, a daughter; Linda (Jerry) Strohm of Brookville, two sisters; Mary Laser of Pittsburgh, Katherina Neiser also of Pittsburgh, eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband she is preceded in death by a son; Keith Prosky, three brothers; Joseph Leroy Nesbitt, Albert Nesbitt, Kieran Nesbitt, and a sister, Isabella Blake.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday June 25, 2015 at 2 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Brookville with Rev. Sharon Schwab officiating.

Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Allegheny County.

Per the family’s request, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 196 Jefferson St. Brookville, PA 15864.

Arrangements are being handled by the Furlong Funeral Home, Gregory K. Furlong FD, corner of Broad St. and First Ave., Summerville, PA.
