Favorite thing about being in the military:
My favorite thing about the military is the fact that I’m fulfilling a childhood dream, and – no matter how small the act – I know I’m doing something to make a difference.
What inspires you to be in the military:
I had two uncles in the Marine Corps during Vietnam, and it was a dream I always had, so I followed my dream.
Most memorable moment in the military:
The most memorable moments for me were saying goodbye to my grandparents and then seeing them for the first time in three months on the day I graduated from boot camp on MCRD Parris Island.
Family:
My family life has had its good and its very dysfunctional moments. When I was 6-years-old, my grandparents, Ronald E. Huet and Cathy J. Huet, took me in and raised me. I’m so thankful that they did because if it wasn’t for them I would’ve never had the opportunity to be in the situation that I am now. They inspired me to follow my dreams.
LCpl Huet will be reenlisting in the Marine Corps and will be putting in a DI package to become a Drill Instructor. He is thankful for all of his friends who have supported him. LCpl Huet is also thankful for all the men and women who have served before and given him the chance to fill their shoes and keep this country free and safe.
