Bob Riggie served our country in the United States Army and the United States Navy.

Name: Robert W. Riggie

Died: September 27, 2021

Hometown: De Lancey, Pa.

Branch: U.S. Army and U.S. Navy

Bob briefly served in the U.S. Navy as a Sonar Technician, Third Class and in 1976 was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal for his life-saving efforts in preventing the drowning of a young man in San Diego, CA.

He was a retired military veteran with career service in the U.S. Army, 1st Infantry Division, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant (SSGT) and was stationed for many years in Schweinfurt, Germany.

During the Gulf War conflict, he saw active duty in Saudi Arabia as a tank commander for Operation Desert Storm.

During his years of service, Bobby received many Commendation Medals and Ribbons.
