John joined the United States Army in 1944 and served during World War II.
John was a member of the Rossiter American Legion.
His funeral service was held on July 23, 2022, at Shumaker Funeral Home in Punxsutawney, with Tina Barkley officiating.
He was laid to rest at the Union Cemetery Rossiter.
Full military honors were accorded by members of the Rossiter Honor Guard.
