Corporal Fisher served as an infantryman in the 23rd Infantry Division stationed in South Vietnam.

Military records indicate Fisher was killed in action by an explosive device on April 17, 1971 in Quang Ngai.

Fisher was awarded the National Defense Service Medal; the Combat Infantryman Badge; the Purple Heart; the Vietnam Campaign Medal; and the Vietnam Service Medal.
