Favorite thing about being in the military:

Having the opportunity to serve with women and men in all five branches of the U.S Armed Forces.

What inspires you to be in the military:

My family is the core reason why I joined the military. I have family, which have served in all branches, putting service to country before self. However, it is my husband and two sons who have supported me and made my career possible.

Most memorable moment in the military:

Being part of the Coast Guard support following the Boston Marathon bombing and manhunt in April 2013.

Family life:

I’m married to my high school sweetheart, Matt Kaye, for almost 23 years. I officially am retired as of 01 May 2015. My husband and I now live in Leeper where we operate a cabin rental business, Fair Winds in the Forest Cabins, near Cook Forest and Clear Creek State Parks. We have two sons – Drew who attends Clarion University and Isaac who attends North Clarion High School.

Anything else:

Service Awards include two CG Commendation Medals, three CG Achievement awards, three Commandant’s Letter of Commendation awards, six CG Meritorious Team awards, five CG Good Conduct awards, the Special Operations Award, along with various other unit awards.

In addition, selected as the 2004 Louisville Armed Forces Committee Patriot award recipient, the 2008 CG Intelligence Coordination Center Enlisted Person of the Year and was a 2011 nominee for both the Navy League Douglas A. Munro Leadership Award and the DHS Intelligence Leadership Award.

It has been an honor to serve with the finest men and women of our U.S. Armed Forces. Upholding the Coast Guard Core Values of Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty in service to our nation has been a privilege. I am grateful everyday that I wore the uniform.
