Allene “Joan” Lott, age 88 of Troutville, PA died Monday, March 27, 2023 at her home.
Born on October 12, 1934 in Troutville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Vera (Ellinger) Shepler.
Joan was a 1953 graduate of the DuBois Area High School.
On June 27, 1953 she married Miles C. Lott.
He preceded her in death on May 11, 2016.
Joan had worked in a retail store, and in a shoe factory.
She was also a bookkeeper and a demonstrator for Stanley Home Products for many years.
She also played accordion and piano professionally.
Joan was a member of a few different dance bands, playing for square dances around the area, and also played many polkas and slow dances.
Apart from playing music, Joan also loved socializing with relatives and friends, and shopping and traveling with Miles.
Joan is survived by her children; Miles Lott, Jr. and his wife Debra and Susan Wyant and her husband Raymond, three grandchildren; Jason Shimmel and his wife Dana, Kaitlin Shimmel Wyant and her husband Raymond, Jr. and Monetta Salyers and her husband Ryan, nine great grandchildren, siblings; Howard Shepler and his wife Thelma and Naomi Pifer and her husband Edward, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by six siblings; Jack, Mary, Willovene, Mabel, Imogene and Roy.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., and Friday March 31, 2023 from 10 – 10:45 a.m. at Troutville Trinity United Church of Christ.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. from the church with Pastor Donna Jarrell and Pastor Barry Fillman co-officiating.
Burial will follow in Troutville Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery.
