Alma Jean (Bundy) Christian, 93, DuBois, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Highland View Health Care, Brockway.
Born October 18, 1924, in Penfield, she was the daughter of the late Hiram and Dora (Shoemaker) Bundy.
She married Archie Theodore Christian on December 18, 1948, in DuBois. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2002.
Alma graduated from Sandy High School and went on to study ministry at Roberts Wesleyan College. Life would take her to Erie where she lived for over 50 years before returning to DuBois. She was a homemaker and enjoyed studying and teaching God’s Word, cooking, entertaining, and spending time with family and friends.
While in Erie, she was a member of the First Free Methodist Church. In DuBois, she was active in the Light & Life Free Methodist Church. In later years, she attended the Treasure Lake Church with many of her family members.
Mrs. Christian is survived by two children, Dr. Ted (Lillian) Christian, New Mexico, and Dora (Terry) Horne, Scenery Hill, PA; five grandchildren, Vincent and Anthony Calabrese, Rebecca (David) Ippolito, James (Rachel) Christian and Erika Christian; two great-grandchildren, Gianna & Matthew Ippolito; six siblings, Lois Garthwaite, DuBois, PA, Dora Dodd, Penfield, PA, Elda Jones, Lancaster, PA, Carolyn Lauer, Texas, Hiram Bundy, Jr., Waynesboro, PA and Emil Bundy, Youngsville, PA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Cleo Saldutte and Donna Hallstrom, and two brothers, Kenneth and Rev. Lyle Bundy.
Friends and family will be received Friday, January 12, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. and Saturday, January 13, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Treasure Lake Church. A funeral service will follow Saturday’s visitation at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dick Whitaker and Pastor Bob Cappel officiating. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Erie.
