Andrew Thane “Gibbo” Gilbert, age 52, of DuBois, PA died Monday, August 1, 2022 in Ocean City, MD.
Born on December 13, 1969 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late James A. and LaVerne M. (Sweka) Gilbert, Jr.
Gibbo was a 1988 graduate of the DuBois Area High School. While in school he participated in football, wrestling and baseball.
Through his love of sports, he made many friendships and connections over the years.
He graduated in 1993 from of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Business Administration.
He was the President of Sigma Nu Fraternity where he established lifelong friendships and brotherhoods.
Andy worked as a Project Manager Talent Connector Specialist for Accenture, LLC for many years.
He served on the DuBois Little League Board for several years and was the President of the league for three years.
He was also the PA District 10 Little League Safety Officer.
Gibbo was instrumental in setting up state tournaments for Little League in DuBois.
Gibbo loved the beach, warm weather and Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers football.
He enjoyed collecting Corvettes, DuBois memorabilia, enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.
His greatest joy was spending time with his son Peyton, traveling, vacationing and watching him play sports.
He was always a friend to everyone, dependable and kind hearted.
Andy is survived by his son Peyton of DuBois, PA, siblings; Becky Pasternak and her husband Charles of DuBois, PA, Joel Gilbert and his wife, Camala of Bellwood, PA, and Gretchen Clark and her husband, Jim of DuBois, PA, nieces and nephews, whom he loved as his own and supported them throughout his life; (Casey Stephens and Ryan Pasternak, Adisyn and Carsyn Gilbert, and Kaden, Madix, and Jimi Clark), and numerous aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 1 PM – 4 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 10 AM from St. Michael The Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Interment will take place in Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Sykesville, PA.
Although flowers are appreciated, the family strongly suggests that memorial donations be made to DuBois Little League, PO Box 71, DuBois, PA, as it has always been a big part of the Gilbert Family’s life.
