Ann J. Newton

Ann J. Newton, 88, of Clearfield, died on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at the Christ the King Manor, DuBois.

She was born on June 26, 1929, in Emporium, a daughter of the late Biazzo and Antennette (Caseino) Loverso.

Mrs. Newton was employed by Thornes Neighborhood Market. Prior to that, she worked for 29 years at the former BiLo/Riverside bakery. She was of the practicing Catholic faith and had volunteered in the St. Francis School Cafeteria.

She is survived by her two children, Barb Dettore and husband Dave of DuBois and John R. Newton and wife Deborah of Canonsburg; two granddaughters, Jessica Laing and husband Matthew and Jennifer Pisarcik and husband Mark; four great-grandchildren, Paisley, Mallie Mae, and Finley Quinn Pisarcik and Mian Laing; and a brother, Joseph Loverso of St. Marys.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W. Richard Newton on September 22, 2013, whom she wed September 5, 1953, in Coalport. She was also preceded in death by two infant daughters, Shirley Ann and Debbie Ann; and a sister, Esther Delisle.

Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King Manor, DuBois on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Matius Quimno as celebrant. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Christ the King Manor, 1100 West Long Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801 or to the DuBois Area Catholic Schools, PO Box 567, DuBois, PA 15801.
