Anna Mae Short

Anna Mae Short, 80, of Shelvey Summit Road, Kersey, died Thursday morning, January 25, 2018, at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born July 10, 1937, in Clearfield, daughter of the late William and Ada S. (Shovestul) Washburn.

She married Donald E. Short on August 23, 1953, he survives.

She resided in Kersey for 56 years and was a member of the Ridgway Church of Christ. She was a member of the Fox Township Lioness Club, a volunteer at Fox Township Elementary School helping children with reading and math, helped with the Fox Township Planning Commission, and she loved to embroider and enjoyed bowling. She had been employed by the St. Marys Area High School cafeteria at the sandwich bar.

In addition to her husband, Donald E. Short of Kersey, she is survived by two sons, Donald E. (Barb) Short Jr. of DuBois and Robert A. (Susan) Short of Falls Creek; one daughter, Julia A. (David) Roman of Reynoldsville; six grandchildren, Kasey, Adam, Colton, Taylor, Cory and Breanna; four step-grandchildren, Jen, Joseph, Jason and Jeremy; six great-grandchildren, Samantha, Sawyer, Cade, Lawson, Collin and Haylee; multiple step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul (Doris) Washburn of Ridgway and John (Doreen) Owens of Morrisdale; one sister, Royetta Goss of Hyde; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, James H. Short; twin grand-babies, Kade and Erin Short; one brother, Joseph Washburn; and two sisters, Dorothy Dollinger and Ethel Louise Washburn in infancy.

Funeral and Committal Services for Anna Mae Short will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home on Sunday, January 28, at 4:00 p.m. Officiating will be Randy Yeager, Lay Minister of the New Hope in Christ Church. Burial will be at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home on Sunday, January 28, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m.
