Area Man Loses $300 to Suspected Dog Sale Scam

WESTOVER BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Police say an area man recently lost $300.00 to a suspected dog sale scam.

Around 9:00 a.m. on September 15, Punxsutawney-based State Police received a report of a theft/fraud incident in Westover Borough, Clearfield County, Pa.

Upon investigation, police say it was determined that a 43-year-old male victim from Westover sent $300.00 to an unknown individual in return for a dog and then never received a dog.

The investigation is ongoing.
