Arthur “Art” M. Zambanini

Arthur “Art” M. Zambanini, 92, of Pine Avenue, Force, PA, died on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Christ the King Manor in DuBois, PA.

Born on December 16, 1925, in Cardiff, PA, he was the son of the late Frank & Mary (Chesti) Zambanini.

On June 19, 1948, he married his wife of 69 years, Genevieve (Gralak) Zambanini, she survives.

Art was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He was awarded a purple heart as an infantryman in the 3rd Army, 94th Division.

He was a heavy equipment operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #66. He last worked at the age of 83 on the Hollywood Treatment Plant running an excavator.

He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Force and the Bennetts Valley American Legion Post 978. Art liked to hunt and was very meticulous about his yard work and keeping his vehicles clean.

Art is survived by his daughter, Rosemary “Pooney” Mehall and her husband Roger of Weedville, PA, a brother, Leno Zambanini and his wife Rachel of Force, PA, and two grandchildren, Michael and Kelly Mehall, both of Force, PA.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Yvonne, and infant son, Arthur, and a sister Rose Secco.

There will be no public visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Force with Fr. Mark Mastrian as celebrant.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the Bennetts Valley American Legion Post 978 Burial Detail.

Memorials may be placed with St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 17764 Bennetts Valley Highway, Force, PA and/or the charity of the donor’s choice.
