Assault Charges Filed Against Two Local Residents Involved in Domestic Scuffle

FALLS CREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Assault and related charges have been filed against two Falls Creek Borough residents who were reportedly involved in a domestic incident that turned violent.

Court documents indicate the DuBois-based State Police filed criminal charges against 53-year-old Darren R Glunt Sr. and 49-year-old Jodee Leigh Glunt.

According to a criminal complaint, around 4:18 p.m. on July 5, DuBois-based State Police were dispatched to Sixth Street in Falls Creek Borough, Jefferson County, for a report of a domestic incident.

At the scene, police spoke to Darren R Glunt Sr. and Jodee Leigh Glunt.

According to the complaint, Jodee Glunt reported that Darren Glunt pushed her with both hands causing her to fall to the ground. She told police she got a cut that bled on her right knee from falling. She also reported that Darren Glunt hit her in the head twice, and in the crotch once, with his right fist.

The complaint notes that police observed Jodee Glunt had a cut that was actively bleeding on her right knee and a swollen spot on the top of her head.

According to the complaint, Darren Glunt told police he threw a beer can toward Jodee Glunt, but not at her, and said he did not recall striking her. He stated that Jodee Glunt threw a full 12-ounce can of beer at him, which he said hit him in the head, above the right eye, causing a laceration.

The complaint notes police observed a dented, full can of beer lying near where Darren Glunt said he was struck with the can, as well as blood on the floor where he had been standing. Police also observed Darren Glunt had a curved/circular laceration of approximately two inches in length above his eye, where he indicated he was hit with the can.

Darren and Jodee Glunt were arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana at 8:04 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., respectively, on Sunday, July 5.

They each face the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2

Both defendants remain free on $10,000.00 each monetary bail.

Preliminary hearings are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. on July 17, with Judge Inzana presiding.
