Attorney General Kane Announces Arrest of ‘Traveling’ Child Predator

Jeffery-ClarkjpgHARRISBURG, Pa. – Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane yesterday announced the arrest of a Dauphin County man accused of posting an online advertisement for sex and then traveling to the Harrisburg area for a sexual encounter with a person he believed was a 14-year-old boy.

According to the criminal complaint, agents with the Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section were operating undercover and posing online as the 14-year-old boy. They responded to an advertisement that Jeffrey D. Clark, 6468 Terrace Court, Harrisburg, posted online.

The charges state that Clark, 51, propositioned the teen for sex via text message. Agents allege Clark specifically proposed meeting the boy in order to engage in sexual relations.

Clark was arrested Wednesday when he arrived at a pre-determined meeting location in the Harrisburg area. He is charged with two counts of unlawful contact with a minor and one count each of criminal solicitation to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, criminal solicitation to commit statutory sexual assault and criminal use of a communication facility.

Clark is currently being held in the Dauphin County Prison in lieu of $125,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for July 23.

He will be prosecuted by the Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section.
