Audrey R. Kromer, 82, Punxsutawney, died Thursday, January 21, 2016, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born August 29, 1933, in the McGees Mills area, a daughter of the late Mazie (McCarty) and Paul T. Rager.
On July 5, 1953, she married Donald L. Kromer, who Survives.
Audrey graduated from the Clearfield High School Class of 1951 and attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing.
She was active in Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and taught Bible School and Sunday School. She was president of the Elks Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Lady Golfers of the Punxsutawney Country Club.
She was an avid reader and golfer who made two hole in ones. She also enjoyed and was successful in deer hunting.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Janice Scott of Punxsutawney, Linda Pifer and husband John of Reynoldsville, David Kromer and wife Kristie of Punxsutawney; six grandchildren, Stephanie Rowles, Thomas Rowles, Leslie Pifer, Emily Wirth, Katie Pifer, and Alee Kromer; one great granddaughter Milla Rowles and another grandchild on the way; two brothers Laird Rager of Ohio, Charles Rager and wife Janet of LaJose; and a sister Janet Haney and husband Don of Clearfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Chester Rager, and four sisters, Eleanor Jones, Marian Maines, Jean Dutton and Lois Griffith.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday January 23, 2016, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, January 24, 2016, at the funeral home with Reverend Brett Swanson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The National Stroke Association, 9707 E. Easter Lane, Suite B, Centennial, CO 80112, The Punxsutawney Memorial Library, 301 East Mahoning Street, Punxsutawney, PA 15767, or to the Charity of the Donors’ Choice.
Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery, DuBois.
