Authorities Locate Missing Brookville Woman

brookville-policeBROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Brookville Police have released details surrounding the search for a missing woman.

On November 28 at approximately 11:10 p.m., Brookville Police were met by three individuals who were requesting assistance in the search for their 55-year-old neighbor.

Police obtained a description and went to the residence where she was last seen. After conducting a thorough search of the entire east side of Brookville Borough, the missing female was not located.

Police called off the search at approximately 2:06 a.m. on November 29.

At approximately 3:36 a.m., Brookville Police were dispatched by Jefferson County 911 to the area of Overbeck Road in Belgiumtown for a report that the missing woman had been located on or near a bridge.

Upon speaking with the caller it was determined that the female was located Five Mile Run Creek near where it connects to Sandy Lick Creek.

Police were able to cross the creek and bring the woman to safety.

Officers escorted her back across the creek where she was placed in an ambulance and transported to the hospital for further evaluation.

“Brookville Police would like to thank Brookville Volunteer Fire Company, Jefferson County EMS, and Track and Trail Search and Rescue for their assistance,” said Brookville Police Chief Jason Brown.
