Authorities Locate Missing Shippenville Man after Extensive Search

SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Clarion-based State Police say a 60-year-old Shippenville man went missing yesterday afternoon and was later located following an extensive search.

Police say the man went missing around 1:00 p.m. after walking into a wooded area behind his Station Road home to collect berries.

The man was located after an extensive search that included several area emergency agencies.

Shippenville Ambulance transported him to Clarion Hospital.

There is no word on whether he sustained injuries.

Approximately 50 people assisted in the search, including members of Shippenville VFD, Shippenville Ambulance, Clarion Fire & Hose Company 1, Farmington Township Volunteer Fire Company, Sligo VFD, Clarion County OES, Cpl. Julock, Tpr. Cole, Tpr. Graf, Jefferson County Search Dog Team, and PA State Police Helicopter.
