Authorities Searching for Clarion County Man Accused of Stealing Money from Grandparents

wedekindCLARION, Pa. (EYT) – An arrest warrant has been issued for a 33-year-old Shippenville man accused of stealing over $7,000 from his grandparents.

According to Clarion County Chief Detective William Peck, an arrest warrant was issued for Joshua D. Wedekind, 33, of Shippenville, after he failed to appear in court this morning in connection with felony theft charges.

Police filed charges of Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition and Theft by Deception against Wedekind yesterday at Magisterial District Judge Timothy Schill’s Office in Shippenville.

According to a Criminal Complaint filed by Peck, Wedekind made a total of $7,070 in withdrawals from his grandparent’s bank account between October 6 and October 21.

Anyone with information on Wedekind’s whereabouts is asked to call the Clarion County District Attorney’s Office at 814-226-4423.
