Barbara A. Hoover, 69, of Trade City, passed away on Tuesday May 23, 2023 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.
She was born April, 13, 1954 to George and Flora (Brocious) Yoas in Punxsutawney.
Barb was a member of the Grange Church of God.
She was graduate of the Punxsutawney Area High School.
She worked on the family farm and at the Mahoning Cheese Co-Op, eventually owning her own business, B and B Country Cheese Shoppe for over 14 years.
She also worked at Woody Lodge Winery in Smicksburg.
Barb liked reading, traveling, wine tasting, and shopping.
Most of all she loved spending time with her family and her dog Rusty.
She is survived by her husband Robert R. Hoover, whom she married July 8, 1972, of Trade City, three daughters and a son, Bryan R. Hoover and wife Becky, Trade City, Katrina A. Nesmith and husband Jeremy, Lancaster, Bobbi J. Powell and husband Tim, Punxsutawney, Sheilah K. Reskovac and husband Michael, Uniontown, eight grandchildren, Charlie, Zoey, Abigail, Jacob, Troy, Melia, Cole and Caleb, a sister, Karen Turner and husband Randay, Fleetwood, special family member Craig Miller, Trade City and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends will be received on Friday from 1-3 PM and 6-8 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767, Friends will also be received on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Tim Spence officiating.
Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery in Porter.
