Barbara Kocher Newpaper PhotoBarbara Daisy Beaumont Kocher, 77, born July 24, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA, died peacefully on Monday, January 11, 2016, in her home at 11 Cherry Street, Brookville.

She was surrounded by her loving husband, five children and their significant others, and her brother Russ. Her mother, Harriett Beaumont and siblings, Deborah Beaumont and Robert Beaumont, precede Barbara in death.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 46 years, James LeRoy Kocher. She is survived by her siblings Joan Beaumont Workowski and husband Reverend Richard Workowski of Daleville, VA, brother Jack Beaumont of Seattle, WA, and brother Russell Beaumont and wife Ruthan, of Brookville, PA.

Barbara is survived by her five children, daughter Deborah Maxwell Dixon and husband David of Clarksburg, PA, son David Maxwell and wife Mary of Latrobe, PA, daughter Judy Maxwell and partner Jodi Holtman of Berlin, PA, daughter Jennifer Kocher Belako and husband Sean of Fredericksburg, VA, and son Bradley Kocher and wife Rebecca of Bowling Green, OH.

Barbara is survived by grandchildren Geoffrey Dixon and his wife Allison, Kaitlin Dixon Bieda and husband Luke, Leah Maxwell and fiancé David Macias, Gregory Maxwell and girlfriend Samantha Styche, granddaughter Claire Maxwell, grandsons Nicholas and Benjamin Belako, grandson and granddaughter Aidan and Addison Kocher. Barbara was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Sydney and Jackson Dixon and Olivia Bieda.

Barbara spent her life caring for others. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mom, gram, mimi, and big-mimi. Her family came first, and she instilled this most important value in her children and grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, from 6-8pm, at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA, 15825. A second day of visitation will take place on Thursday, January 14, 2016, from 2-3pm. A funeral service will immediately follow the second visitation beginning at 3pm, with the Reverend Richard Workowski officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Penn Highlands Home Health, PO Box 447, DuBois, PA, 15801.
