Barbara R. Pearce, 76 of Rochester Mills, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Pearce was born December 17, 1939 in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Louis and Maxine (Gourley) Sheilds.
May 9, 1959 she married her loving husband John Pearce, Jr. who preceded her in death.
She was a member of Covode United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and all of her beautiful flowers. Her greatest joy was being with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by one son; John Pearce and wife Jenny, one daughter; Lou Ann Neal and husband Larry all of Rochester Mills, one brother; William Sheilds and wife Margaret also of Rochester Mills, three grandchildren; Michael Pearce and Ashley Wingard, Jesse Pearce, Ashley Harkleroad and Husband Timothy, five great grandchildren; Joey Pearce, Izabella Harkleroad, Grayson, Kennedy and Madison Pearce, sister in law; Marci Gerhart of Florida, several nieces, nephews and many cousins.
In addition to her husband John, she was preceded in death by two infant sisters.
Friends will be received from 1-3 pm and 6-7 pm Saturday, April 16 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney where a funeral service will be held at 7 pm with Pastor Tom Spicker officiating.
