DUBOIS, Pa. (D9Sports) – Noah Bloom’s single in the bottom of the sixth inning drove home Peter Downer with the eventual winning run, as DuBois Central Catholic beat Philipsburg-Osceola, 5-4.

The Cardinals trailed, 4-3, going the sixth but tied the game on a Brandon Walker ground out that scored Dante Armanini.
Walker also hit a three-run home run for DCC while driving in four runs, while Justin Miknis was 2-for-3 with a double and Tyler McIntosh 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Keegan Soltis homered while going 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI to pace the Mounties. Ryan Whitehead went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and Ryan Kephart went 2-for-2 with three RBIs.
Anthony Kness pitched the first 5 ⅔ innings for DCC with three strikeouts and four allowed runs on eight hits. Bloom finished the game with two strikeouts and earned the win.
Carson Jones took the loss for Philipsburg-Osceola. Bubba Slogosky started the game and had six strikeouts in five innings on the mound.
DUBOIS 4, BROOKVILLE 1
DuBOIS, Pa. – Scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, DuBois broke a 1-1 tie and went on to beat visiting Brookville 4-1 at Showers’ Field.
Alex Pasternak’s sacrifice fly and Dayne Bauman’s two-run single brought home the game-winning runs for the Beavers. Bauman relieved Gauge Gulvas with two runners on and one out in the top of the seventh and got the final two outs for the save.
Chase Husted doubled while Dylan McCluskey singled and scored on Heath Means’ forceout grounder in the second inning.
The Raiders scored their lone run in the top of the sixth to tie the game. Cole LaBenne led off and reached when he was hit by Gulvas and scored on Brady Caylor’s two-out single. Caylor and Jace Miner each had two hits for the Raiders with both of Miner’s being doubles.
Gulvas, the Beavers’ second of three pitchers, got the win. He relieved starter Jeremy Krise in the top of the sixth and went 1 1/3 innings, giving up two hits and a run. Krise scattered seven hits over the first five innings, striking out one.
Aaron Park took the loss for the Raiders, giving up four hits and three walks in 5 2/3 innings while striking out four.
ST. MARYS 8, PUNXSUTAWNEY 7
ST. MARYS, Pa. – After issuing a four-pitch walk to the first batter he faced, Dakota Long, Nate Beimel struck out Sheldon Young to preserve an 8-7 St. Marys win over visiting Punxsutawney.
The Dutch led 8-3 going to the top of the seventh, but Derek Huey hit a grand slam off Christian Coudriet to get the Chucks within a run. Enter Beimel, who walked Long before ending the game with the strikeout to pick up the save.
Brandon Sicheri got the win going six innings allowing three runs, all earned, on seven hits and two walks while striking out six.
Beimel led the St. Marys’ offense going 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and five RBIs. Shane Price was also 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored and Jake Meeker went 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored.
Huey was 2-for-4 with the run scored and five RBIs for Punxsutawney.
Also for the Chucks, Daren Byers went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs, Adison Neal was 2-for-3 with a walk and three runs scored and Alex Greenblatt was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Isaac Knarr took the loss giving up seven runs, six earned, on eight hits, two walks and two hit batters in three innings of work. He struck out five. Huey tossed three innings of relief allowing a run on three hits and two walks while striking out two.
JOHNSONBURG 8, BROCKWAY 3
BROCKWAY, Pa. – Cameron Marciniak went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored to help visiting Johnsonburg defeat Brockway, 8-3.
In addition, Austin Green and Zach Zameroski each had a pair of hits, a run scored and an RBI for the Rams. Dom Allegretto drove in two runs while Ethan Wells went 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs.
Tyler Serafini went 2-for-4 with a run scored for the Rovers while Santino Inzana doubled and drove in a run. Ben Glasl singled and scored a run, and Zane Puhala had a hit and an RBI.
Gavin Elmquist got the win for Johnsonburg striking out seven batters while allowing one run on two hits.
Serafini took the loss with three strikeouts for Brockway.
CLEARFIELD 2, BRADFORD 1
BRADFORD, Pa. – Hunter Dixon outdueled Peyton Manning, as visiting Clearfield beat Bradford, 2-1.
Dixon needed just 81 pitches to go the seven-inning distance. He allowed one earned run on six hits and a walk while striking out four.
Manion pitched 6 ⅔ innings allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits and six walks.
Hayden Williams led Clearfield’s offense going 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored. Cade Walker had the lone RBI for the Bison with Caullin Reed adding the other run scored.
Manion was 2-for-3 for Bradford with Michael Gow going 1-for-3 with an RBI and Tyler Gigliotti scoring the lone run.
KEYSTONE SWEEP DOUBLEHEADER FROM FOREST AREA
KNOX, Pa. – Keystone swept a doubleheader from visiting Forest Area winning by scores of 15-0 in three innings an 16-4.
In the 15-0 victory, Brooks Lavan and Troy Johnson each drove in three runs.
Lavan was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and Johnson was 3-for-3 with a run scored.
Also for the Panthers, Jayden Blazosky went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, two runs scored and an RBI, Dawson Steele was 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, an RBI and three runs scored, Tye Elder went 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, an RBI and two runs scored, Skylar Kagle was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs and Marcus Bowser had an RBI and scored twice. ‘
Elder got the win going three innings allowing three hits while hitting a batter and striking out eight.
Noah Burke, Daniel Schwab and Mitchell McWilliams had singles for the Fires.
In the second game, Seth Apel was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs for Keystone with Kagle going 2-for-2 with a triple, a run scored and three RBIs.
Also for the Panthers, Blazosky went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI, Brandon Kapp was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a walk and three RBIs, Steele drove in two runs and scored a run, Andrew Lauer went 1-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored and Nick Cosper scored twice.
Schwab was 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI for Forest Area with Dylan Saxton going 1-for-3 with an RBI and Bobby Dittman walking twice and scoring twice.
Elder got the win again going four innings allowing a run on a hit and a walk while striking out four.
Kagle pitched two innings of relief giving up three runs, one earned, on a hit and three walks while striking out three. Lauer finished up going a scoreless inning striking out two.
