Bernard D. “Bernie” Anthony

Benard AnthonyBernard D. “Bernie” Anthony, 82, of Rimersburg, PA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Clarion Hospital.

He was born May 25, 1934 in Pinoak, PA, to Clance and Frances (Swartz) Anthony.

On June 28, 1952, Bernie married the love of his life, Marcella Kriebel Anthony, whom he fondly called “Lovey.”

He worked for the railroad and then 21 years for National Casting Steel in Farrell.

Later, he retired from Rimersburg Borough, a job he loved, serving the people of Rimersburg. Bernie also worked 26 years for the Southern Clarion County Ambulance Service.

He enjoyed seeing his friends for morning coffee at the Knight Spot and Korner Restaurant.

Bernie loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family passionately.

He had many friends, including the nurses at Clarion Hospital. Bernie’s greatest regret was not coming to know the Lord until the age of 81.

He attended Baker Street Church of God but also enjoyed his daily devotions with Marcella.

His memory will be cherished by his wife of almost 65 years, Marcella Anthony, of Rimersburg; sons, Bradley Anthony and wife, Carolyn, of New Bethlehem, and Kevin Anthony and wife, Cathy, of Kittanning; daughters, Lexie Bryant and husband, Randy, of New Bethlehem, Cindy Campbell and husband, Ben, of New Bethlehem, Brenda Moore and husband, Eddie, of Fishers, IN, and Tammy McClaine and husband, Tom, of New Bethlehem; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lois McGuire, of Rimersburg, Joyce Bailey, of Rimersburg, and Wilma Bonnett and husband, Paul, of West Middlesex.

Bernie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clayton, Ed, Jake and Billy Anthony; and sister, Phyllis.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 PM on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Baker Street Church of God, 160 Veteran St., Rimersburg, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Baker Street Church of God, with the Rev. John A. Milliron and the Rev. Bruce Wilson co-officiating.

Burial will be in Rimersburg Cemetery, Rimersburg, PA.
