Betty A. Couch Baroni

Betty A. Couch Baroni, 90, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Indiana, passed away Friday, July 31, 2015, at the Masonic Villages at Elizabethtown.

A daughter of the late Jacob E. and Rhoda Luce Lydick, she was born May 15, 1925, in Punxsutawney.

Mrs. Baroni lived most of her life in Punxsutawney and Indiana County, where she was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church. Her civic organizations include Eastern Star (Indiana) and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by a son, James L. Couch and wife Mary Ann, of Mechanicsburg; a sister, Shirley J. Reitz and husband Delbert, of Punxsutawney; two grandchildren: Christopher “Chip” Couch and wife Amy, of Mercersburg; and R. Michael Couch and wife Yvette, of Wellsville; six great-grandchildren: Dustin, Michaela, Lea, Brady, Griffin and Savanna; two nephews, Bill Reitz, of Glen Campbell and Dan Reitz, of Punxsutawney.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., Indiana, with the Rev. David Hanna officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James K. Couch; her second husband, Vigilio Baroni; and a son, Robert Michael Couch.
