Betty I. Raybuck

Betty RaybuckBetty I. Raybuck, age 89, of New Bethlehem, passed away late Wednesday evening, March 1, 2017 at the Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sligo.

Born October 21, 1927 in New Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Minnie Bish Williams.

She married Charles R. “Chuck” Raybuck on September 17, 1948 in the parsonage of the United Methodist Church in New Bethlehem. The couple celebrated 68 years of marriage.

In earlier years, Betty worked at Herbert’s Grocery Store and G. C. Murphy Company both in New Bethlehem. She retired from the A.P. Green Brick Company in Climax and worked for the Red Cross and the Clarion County Register and Recorder’s Office.

She was a member of the New Bethlehem First Baptist Church, where she once served on the Board of Trustees and was a member of the Sunday school. She loved attending church and the fellowship of her church family.

Betty loved to read and was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She enjoyed doing yard work, alongside her husband, tending to her flower and vegetable gardens and traveling.

Betty and Chuck’s travels took them many places including Austria and Hawaii and in later years they enjoyed a trip out west with close friends, Arnold and Keturah Radaker.
The couple also enjoyed wintering in Florida.

Although she did not have children of her own, Betty had the knack of making any child that crossed her path, from generations of nieces and nephew to the children of the neighborhood and church family, feel loved and special. Whether it be a birthday or holiday, she never failed to send them a card marking that special day.

Betty is survived by her husband, Chuck, of New Bethlehem; her sister, Jean Williams, also of New Bethlehem; sister-in-law, Jeanne Raybuck of Frogtown; two brothers-in-law: George Raybuck of North Carolina and William Raybuck of Brookville and numerous nieces and nephews.
