Billy R. Loughry, 89 of Rochester Mills, passed away Monday, December 29, 2014 at UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh.
Mr. Loughry was born July 21, 1925 in E. Mahoning Twp., a son of the late George and Elmira (Wynkoop) Loughry.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Betty L. (Wissinger) Loughry of Rochester Mills.
He was the owner and operator of excavating and coal stripping companies. He was very involved in community service, loved deer and big game hunting and farming. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
In addition to his wife Betty, he is survived by his sons; William A. Loughry of Rochester Mills, Thomas H. Loughry and wife Tina Rae of Marion Center, John W. Loughry and wife Laurie of Rochester Mills, daughter; Carol Ann Johnson and husband James of Madison, WI., grandchildren Steven Johnson and wife Melanie, David Johnson and wife Kimberly, Rachel Bratton and fiance’ Len Kensey, Thomas Loughry, Jr. and wife Joelene, Melissa Vaughn and husband Jayson, Jennifer Carotelli and husband Frank, Johnny Loughry and great grandchildren; Jordon Bratton, Anthony Carotelli, Madelyne Rae Loughry and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by an infant daughter; Connie and brothers; Robert and Carlton Loughry.
Friends will be received from 6-8 pm Friday, January 2, 2015 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Stephen Bond officiating. Interment will follow at Marion Center Cemetery.
