Blair V. Rhodes

Blair V. Rhodes, 87, of Reynoldsville, Pa., passed away May 12, 2015, at home, surrounded by his family.

He was born March 6, 1928, in Hampfield Township, a son of the late William Rhodes and Blanche Weyant Rhodes.

On July 8, 1950, Blair married Ruby A. Norris Rhodes, who survives.

Blair was a veteran of the Korean War who proudly served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a retired lifelong dairy farmer.

He was a member of the Zion Presbyterian Church in Panic and the Pennsylvania Farmer’s Association.

Blair’s favorite activity was spending time with his family who enjoyed his story-telling abilities. His greatest love was his wife, Ruby. They would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year.

In addition to his wife, Blair is survived by a daughter, Beverly Armagost and husband Alex of Palmer, Alaska; two sons, Rodney Rhodes and wife Terri of Panic and Gary Rhodes of Reynoldsville; a brother, Clair Rhodes and wife Betty of Boynton Beach, Florida; three sisters, Carrie Gaston of Prospect, Pa., Eleanor Depp and husband Raymond of Panic and Mildred Woods and husband Joe of Panic; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Rhodes; and a sister, Ruth Roberts.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2015, at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 15, 2015, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steven J. Hendrickson officiating.

Interment will be in Zion Presbyterian Cemetery in Panic.
