Blair William Powell

blair-powell-photoBlair William Powell, 82, of New Bethlehem, died Saturday afternoon, November 5, 2016 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born on January 11, 1934 in Ringgold, Jefferson County, he was a son of the late William G. and Arveta M. (Snyder) Powell. Blair was married on March 19, 1955 to Beverly J. (Darr) Powell and she preceded him in death on February 5, 2015.

He attended the First Baptist Church in New Bethlehem. He worked as a car salesman for Ron Seidle Chevrolet Cadillac GMC.

Blair is survived by a son, Mark J. Powell and his wife, Ruthie of New Bethlehem, two granddaughters, Kristin Potter and her husband, Joe of Madison, Ohio and Lisa Powell and her fiance’, Vladimir Markovich of Norfolk, Virginia, a great granddaughter, Kara Potter, and two brothers, Allen E. Powell and his wife, Lorraine of Brookville and Leon Powell of Ringgold.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heather Powell, and three brothers, Glenn E. “Buzz” Powell, Harold A. “Hud” Powell and an infant.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 7, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Ronald Kunselman and Pastor Rocky Hammond co- officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Distant.
