Bomb Squad Called to Punxsy Walmart

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – Authorities were called to Punxsutawney Walmart Thursday morning for a report of two suspicious packages in the store’s parking lot.

PSP Punxsutawney, Punxsutawney VFD, and the PSP Hazardous Device and Explosive Section (HDES) responded to the incident around 7 a.m.

The area was blocked off and the packages were examined by HDES.

Following the investigation, it was determined that the packages were suitcases that were left in the parking lot by an unknown white male and an unknown white female.

Police say both suitcases were found to contain personal items and did not pose a danger to the public.

Authorities say the investigation continues into the identity of the two unknown individuals who left the suitcases in the parking lot
