Homicide by Vehicle, Involuntary Manslaughter Charges Filed Against Sigel Man

Crime SceneELDRED TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State Police have filed Homicide by Vehicle and other charges against a Sigel man.

According to court documents, Marienville-based State Police filed the following charges against Taylor Daniel Cudworth, 20, of Sigel on August 20:

– Homicide By Vehicle, Felony 3
– Involuntary Manslaughter, Misdemeanor 1
– Driving at Safe Speed, Summary
– Disregard Traffic Lane, Summary
– Careless Driving – Unintentional Death, Summary

The charges were filed at Magisterial District Judge Bazylak’s office in Brookville.

Cudworth was involved in a fatal two-vehicle accident in Eldred Township, Jefferson County, on October 25, 2013. According to police, Brenda L. Boyer, 56, of DuBois, was killed around 7 a.m. that morning when her 2008 Hyundai Sonata was struck by an oncoming Hyundai Elantra operated by Cudworth.

Specific details surrounding the charges have not yet been released as Cudworth is awaiting preliminary arraignment.

A preliminary hearing is set for September 4, 2014.

Authorities are expected to release additional details upon Cudworth’s arraignment.
