Brookville Man Allegedly Stabs Person in Neck, Faces Attempted Criminal Homicide

handcuff-300x225BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – A Brookville man faces Attempted Criminal Homicide charges following an alleged altercation that occurred around 3:30 p.m. on December 27.

According to Brookville Police Department, 41-year-old Robert Alan Smith, of Brookville, has been charged with Attempted Criminal Homicide, Aggravated Assault, and other related charges following an investigation.

Police say it is alleged that Smith stabbed a known person in the neck with a knife during an altercation.

Smith was arrested without incident during a traffic stop following the altercation, according to police.

The victim was treated at Penn Highlands in Brookville and later released.

Smith was arraigned and placed in the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $300,000.00 straight bail.

Charges were filed at Magistrate Bazylak’s office.

No other information was released.
