DISTANT, Pa. (EYT) – Officials say the Armstrong County Coroner was called to the scene of an incident in Distant on Sunday.
Armstrong 911 told exploreClarion.com that Kittanning-based State Police were dispatched to an undisclosed incident along Route 28/66 around 2:39 p.m.
According to the dispatcher, Armstrong County Coroner Brian Myers was also called to the scene.
Authorities declined to release specific details on the incident; however, heavy police and emergency personnel activity has been reported in the area by eye-witnesses.
Route 28/66 is currently closed between Pheasant Farm Road and Cherry Street. A detour is in place.
Distant Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched for traffic control.
