ELDRED TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A 45-year-old Corsica man was flown to a Pittsburgh area hospital following a motorcycle crash in Eldred Township, Jefferson County, this afternoon.

State Police say the crash occurred around 12:20 p.m. when Brian Tost, 45, of Corsica, lost control of his 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle while traveling north on State Route 949 near its intersection with Best Drive.

Police say Tost was attempting to negotiate a left turn when his motorcycle overturned onto its right side and slid in a northbound direction on the roadway for a distance of approximately 15 feet.

Tost’s motorcycle then traveled off the roadway for a distance of approximately 18 feet and impacted an embankment.

Tost was subsequently thrown from his bike and traveled approximately 20 feet.

He was transported to Clarion Hospital via Jefferson County EMS for treatment of moderate injuries. Police say he was later flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital for further treatment of his injuries.

Tost was not wearing a helmet.
