Man Killed in Jefferson County Crash

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) –  A 37-year-old man was killed in a rollover crash in Jefferson County this morning.

Punxsutawney-based State Police say William James Duffield, 37, of Ridgway, was traveling north on State Route 310 and failed to negotiate a left turn in the roadway.

Duffield lost control of his 2002 GMC Envoy which slid and rotated, crossing the southbound lane.

The vehicle went off the west side of the roadway, where it struck a small embankment.

This impact caused the vehicle to roll over many times.

Duffield wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.

Jefferson County Coroner Bernard Snyder pronounced Duffield dead at the scene due to blunt force trauma.

State Police were assisted at the scene by McCalmont Twp. Volunteer Fire Department and Jefferson County EMS.
